The meeting was brought to order at 7:30 by Greg Ferkol.

February 13 meeting:

The meeting will be at Woodcraft in Peoria instead of at Peoria Camera as was announced at the meeting. This will be a regular meeting so bring your show-n-tell item. The program will be a discussion of dust masks and respirators. The meeting at Peoria will be re-scheduled.

New member:

Phil Korem of Peoria joined the club. Welcome Phil.

Old business:

Top-a-thon results: $1400 was raised for the Children's Home. Thanks to all members who participated in the event.

The recipient of the gavel Terry Quiram turned made a $25 donation to the club. Thanks Terry.

Rick Bucker has contacted Bob Rosand. He will be in Duluth, MN this fall. His fee is $400 per day. Rick will see if Bob will be able to schedule a demo here.

Alan Lacer is scheduled to demo at Woodcraft March 25 & 26. More later regarding the hands on session on the 26th.

There was some discussion regarding video equipment and/or providing a mirror above and behind demonstrators to make it easier to see.

Keith Zimmerman received a round of applause for his work with the web site. Members suggested a gallery.

Paul Cobb reported $1100 in the treasury. It's time to pay your dues if you have not already done so.

New business:

Woodcraft would like to host a club sponsored turning day that would be open to the public, giving any who wants a chance to try their hand at turning. Terry Quiram will talk to Roger Buss about this.

Dennis Belcher has inventoried the video library. The club has 60 videos, 7 are missing. Dennis will give Keith Zimmerman the list of available and missing for publication on the website. Dennis suggested if anyone has videos or books they no longer use they could be donated to the club to improve our resource.

Club approved turning tops for a church. Terry will have more on this.

Club approved spending $100 for turning DVDs.

Dave Carroll talked about turning captured rings using dental tools. He showed the tool he ground and shared a handful of tools Terry Quiram had received from his dental hygienist.

Paul Cobb: Cocabolo bowl and segmented bowls from cherry and lacewood.
Ron Bell: Large lidded vessel from maple burl with ipe finial and inlay and bubinga foot.
