Greetings from the Central Illinois Woodturners (CIW). We are a local wood turning club affiliated with the American Association of Woodturners (AAW). Our purpose is to invite, encourage, teach, learn and promote the art of turning wood. We have a broad range of turners in our club from beginners to members with over 30 years of experience. We have members that welcome the opportunity to mentor. There is a tape/CD and book library available to members at no cost. Twice yearly the club hires a professional turner to lead a seminar and provide hands on training. We meet on the 2nd Monday of every month. Meetings are held in 2 locations, at Millworks in Bloomington, Illinois, and at the Woodcraft store in Peoria, Illinois. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. Membership runs from January to December. Both CIW and AAW membership are required. AAW membership includes a quarterly magazine and provides liability insurance to members at any AAW sponsored event. Membership will get you discounts at the woodworking stores where we meet. Click here for more meeting and membership information.
